Is it possible to use an existing MySQL Server for Oracle VM Manager 3.2.1 (and later) repository database? (Doc ID 1558154.1)

Goal

From Oracle VM Manager version 3.2.1, it is possible to utilise MySQL or Oracle Database (Standard and Enterprise Editions only) for the Oracle VM Manager database repository.
The ability for Oracle VM Manager to now utilise the MySQL database begs the following question:
  Is it possible to install Oracle VM Manager 3.2.1 (or higher) to utilise an existing MySQL database running on the same or other system?
