Scope
ASMLib is a support library for the Automatic Storage Management feature used in Oracle Databases running on the Oracle Linux Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) and RedHat Compatible Kernel (RHCK). Oracle ASMLib is included in the UEK kernel, but must be installed as a separate package for RHCK. This document provides a set of steps on how to get the oracleasm kernel driverfor Oracle Linux 6 RHCK and also how to validate the driver was provided by Oracle and not another vendor.
