Symptoms

Symptom1:

Observe "WARNING: No module scsi-wait-scan found for kernel 2.6.18-348.0.0.0.1.el5, continuing anyway." during system boot up.

Symptom2:

Starting kdump service will report module missing.

# service kdump start
No kdump initial ramdisk found. [WARNING]
Rebuilding /boot/initrd-2.6.18-348.0.0.0.1.el5kdump.img
WARNING: No module scsi-wait-scan found for kernel 2.6.18-348.0.0.0.1.el5, continuing anyway
WARNING: No module scsi-wait-scan found for kernel 2.6.18-348.0.0.0.1.el5, continuing anyway
Starting kdump: [FAILED]

Changes

 The scsi_wait_scan module was added into Oracle UEK1/UEK2 kernel but does not exist in Oracle Linux 5.x RHCK kernel-2.6.18-xx.yy.
