Oracle Linux: Error "nfs: server <server name/ip> not responding, timed out" (Doc ID 1599392.1)

While having NFS v3/v4 mounts on the system, "requests/second" value in the output of "iostat -n" increases. One might find that:

Large number of processes accessing the NFS mount gets stuck while waiting for I/O request completion and thus the system load average increases.
As seen from the output of "nfsstat -rc", the value under "retrans" counter starts increasing and there are repeating log entries as given below, seen under /var/log/messages file:
