Goal
Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) is the default kernel for Oracle Linux and is the one recommended by Oracle. However, if there will be applications that are only certified with Red Hat Enterprise Linux compatible kernel (RHCK) on the system; it can be preferred to be removed from the Kickstart installation. Please note that in order to use RHCK, it is not necessary to remove UEK.
This document describes how to add an option to Kickstart to prevent UEK from being installed.
Note: Oracle recommends to use UEK. Please use this method only when there is a compatibility issue with the applications that are going to be run on the system.
