OCFS2 Repository Hang Caused by Bridge MAC Address Changes When VM Start/Stop/Migrate (Doc ID 1610895.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 12, 2014

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.0.3 and later
Linux x86-64

A server pool is configured with a shared network which is used for 'Cluster HeartBeat', 'Storage' and 'Virtual Machine'. Sometimes when Virtual Machines (VMs) were started, stopped or live-migrated,
the storage network may break for about 20-40 seconds, then start working again. After 5 seconds, the iSCSI ping timer would decide that the storage was down, and mark all of the LUNs as failed.
- OCFS2 Repository Hangs
- The pool file system is fibre channel and does not hang
- "lsof" only shows zombie processes (Linux commands such as "ls")
- Storage admin has verified that everything is good with storage
