Last updated on JULY 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.0.1 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On Oracle VM 3.x environment, after restarting an Oracle VM  server, some of the jobs would fail to complete. For instance, starting a Virtual Machine will leave the VM at "Starting" state forever, even though the Virtual Machine has actually started on the Oracle VM Server.

[1] The Oracle VM server can establish connection with Oracle VM Manager's 7002 port successfully, when checked with the "nc" command and similarly, the Manager can also connect to Server's 8899 port.

Run nc command below on Oracle VM server to check connection to Oracle VM Manager, for example <IP>, result succeeded .
