Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2022
Applies to:
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.5 with Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel [3.8.13] and laterOracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64
Symptoms
- Oracle Linux 6.5 working as a mail server has a requirement to send unauthenticated mail. However, the environment is using Office365 and this uses authentication (TLS and user/password).
- To try to overcome this, postfix is used as a relay for Office365.
- Postfix has been configured but does not seem to be able to successfully change the 'FROM' identity, and the customer is receiving the following error with the mail not being delivered.
The Postfix relay for Office365 ends with the error "Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM"
