How to Import or Migrate an Existing OCFS2 Repository Prior To OVM 3.3. (Doc ID 2031238.1)

Last updated on APRIL 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.2.1 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

This document discusses how to reuse a managed OCFS2 repository instead of destroying the data by creating a new repository.

This procedure is NOT required in OVM 3.3.x or later, provided that the "source" repository is from OVM 3.3.x or later; OVM 3.3.x and later allow repositories to moved among pools by relinquishing and taking ownership.

It addresses the following scenarios:

1) Oracle VM Server and Manager have been reinstalled in a new environment - for example a hardware change.
2) Oracle VM Server without change, but the manager installed without old UUID resulting in OVMRU_002037E when trying to add an existing repository.
3) Repository requires to be moved from an OVM 3.x prior to 3.3.x or later  to another OVM pool or manager.
