Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.0.1 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

By default, on_crash option is set to 'reboot'. You can modify it via Oracle VM Manager GUI to other values like 'coredump-restart', so that a vmcore will be generated on guest crash. But you need to stop the guest and start it again to take effect.

This note provides steps to change on_crash option for a running guest.
