Running fsck.ocfs2 against an OCFS2 file system reports "*** glibc detected *** /sbin/fsck.ocfs2: double free or corruption (fasttop)" and prints a backtrace (Doc ID 2100103.1)

Symptoms

 On Oracle Linux when making use of OCFS2, Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, or Oracle VM, when attempting to run a fsck.ocfs2 command against an OCFS2 file system, the fsck.ocfs2 command core dumps and prints the following kind of error :
