How to Mount a Virtual Image Logical Volume Partition on Oracle VM Server (Doc ID 2104457.1)

Last updated on JULY 16, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.3.1 to 3.3.3 [Release OVM33]
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64
The OVM server has a global filter set so that no disks are scanned. This prevents problems with booting the OVM server if it finds Logical Volumes during boot which may prevent the server from booting. With this in place, you will not be able to pvscan the disk using simple pvscan command.

When there is some configuration option that has been set on a system disk image that uses logical volumes, you can mount the LVM on the local OVM server to make the fixes to the system disk when you cannot boot a rescue image.
