Upgrade Process Stops When Running "preupg" While Performing an Inplace Upgrade From OL6 to OL7 (Doc ID 2115739.1)

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later

When performing an inplace upgrade from Oracle Linux 6 to Oracle Linux 7 following the steps available on the installation guide of Oracle Linux 7, the process stops when following the step number 4 while running "preupg" for the upgrade assessment and the following error is displayed:


Therefore, the /root/preupgrade directory indicated on step 5 is not created.

Planning to upgrade from Oracle Linux 6 latest version running UEK3 to Oracle Linux 7
Oracle Linux 6 must be running the latest release version available and latest UEK3 kernel
