PCA : How to Migrate and Import using the GPG Keys in Oracle Linux 5 and 6

(Doc ID 2117193.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2016

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 1.0.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Files are being migrating from RHEL5 to Oracle Linux 6 (OL6). On said RHEL5 host GPG1 is used to decrypt files with the following command:

gpg --passphrase $PASSWORD --output $FILE.dat --decrypt $FILE.dat.pgp

The above command is ran after the user switches to a service account via sudo (sudo -i -u $USER)

However since moving to OL6, this command does not work as expected. This is due to OL6 defaulting to using GPG2 rather GPG1.
