Unable to Login as "Oracle" User Even After Changing the Password (Doc ID 2142638.1)

Symptoms


A user is unable to login to a local user account, such as the "Oracle" user even  after changing the password.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

[root@localhost~]# passwd oracle
Changing password for user oracle.
New password:
BAD PASSWORD: is too simple
Retype new password:
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.
[root@localhost ~]#

 Then when  trying to log in as the oracle user via ssh or the console, the following error occurs:

login as: oracle
oracle@localhost's password:
Access denied
oracle@localhost's password:

Changes

 Try to change password for  user "oracle" as not able to login.
