Osad and Osa-Dispatcher not Working When Setting up a Spacewalk Proxy Server (Doc ID 2156757.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 28, 2018

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Communication between Osad service on the Spacwalk client and OSA-dispatcher on the Spacewalk Server might get affected if a Spacewalk proxy server is configured to be in the middle.

The following error can be seen in the Spacewalk Proxy Server :

jabberd/s2s[14919]: [-1] [10.157.192.64, port=5269] mio_connect error: Address family not supported by protocol (97)

Note: Make sure the following list of recommendation are set:

  • Osa status in the webUI shows as : OFFLINE AS OF UNKNOWN
  • SELINUX, iptables down in all servers (SW Proxy, SW Client and SW Server)
  • Servers have correctly set the FQDN (This is mandatory for all components in Spacewalk for SSL to work correctly.)
