Symptoms

When trying to update the security packages using a local repository, if the updateinfo.xml.gz is missing, the yum update --security will not install any packages.

Output from the host that is trying to update the security packages:


[root@localhost~]# yum update --security
Loaded plugins: security, ulninfo

Resolving Dependencies
Limiting packages to security relevant ones
No packages needed for security; 2 packages available

In this output, two packages are available but are not listed.
