Symptoms
NOTE: using the site name https://yum.oracle.com is preferred over the older https://public-yum.oracle.com name. New deployments should refer to the first hostname as the "public-yum" name is deprecated. Either name points to the same site at present.
This applies to Oracle Linux 5, 6, or 7.
Attempting to access the Oracle public YUM repository (https://yum.oracle.com or https://yum.oracle.com) fail:
