[PCA] External Storage Performance Issue on a Private Cloud Appliance with Many Different Errors Printed when any IO is Performed on it (Doc ID 2207273.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2021

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 1.0.1 and later
Linux x86-64

On Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, when testing throughput with a tool such as dd , the total throughput is only a fraction of what it should be.

Additionally, the following kind of error messages start being recorded in the /var/log/messages file of the compute node that is performing the test. Additional compute nodes may log these errors based on if there are physical / virtual disks in use on this external storage :

The same kind of behavior cannot be reproduced running a similiar test on the rack's internal ZFS.
