Oracle Linux 5: Incorrect or Missing IP Address After Package Upgrade or Server Reboot (Doc ID 2219556.1)

No IP address or an incorrect IP address is present at the first reboot or after a system upgrade.

This problem can occur when a network interface is configured  to use a static ip address instead of using the dhcp-client service to obtain a dynamically assigned ip address.


 This issue can occur at he first reboot after a system install or after a system upgrade.
