Symptoms
VMware HW Version 10, ESX 6.0.0. VM Guest running Oracle Linux 7 and Docker containers. VMware tools running and current.
Initiating a VMware Snapshot will hang the VM if the "Quiesce Filesystem" option is checked for the snapshot.
Error in VMWare :
An error occurred while saving the snapshot: msg.snapshot.error-QUIESCINGERROR.
Server becomes unresponsive and needs to be power cycled. With the Docker containers stopped (docker service stopped) Quiesced snapshots work without issue.
