Last updated on JULY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.0.5 to 2.3.1 [Release 2.0]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, when attempting to add a compute node to a Custom network using a command such as :

PCA> add network MyHostNetwork ovcacn07r1

The command exits with an error :

Status: Failure
Error Message: Error (NETWORK_000): Exception while trying to add network MyHostNetwork to compute node ovcacn07r1: Error while adding route destination xx.xx.xx.xx/nn via gateway yy.yy.yy.yy from interface 1020566ce1 for compute_node: ovcacn07r1.

But the Compute Node is still getting added to the Network on the pca-admin database :

PCA> show network MyHostNetwork

----------------------------------------
Network_Name MyHostNetwork
Trunkmode True
Description User defined network
Ports ['11:2']
vNICs ovcacn07r1-eth11
Status ready

Compute_Nodes ovcacn07r1
Prefix xx.xx.xx
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Route Destination xx.xx.xx.xx/nn
Route Gateway yy.yy.yy.yy
----------------------------------------

Later when attempting to delete the compute node :

PCA> remove network MyHostNetwork ovcacn07r1
