Symptoms

When running the Oracle Linux 7/8 on a server with NVIDIA Corporation MCP55 Ethernet network interfaces, the kernel fails to detect the network cards.

In lspci(8) correctly denotes the NVIDIA ethernet devices as present i.e.:
