[PCA 2.x] Present Repository Fails with "Unable to mount file system "/dev/mapper/XX": mount: you must specify the filesystem type" (Doc ID 2241263.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 21, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Private Cloud Appliance - Version 1.0.1 and later
Oracle VM - Version 3.0.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, all supported releases, and Oracle VM, all 3.X.X releases, when attempting to present a given repository to a particular compute node / OVM Server or to a subset of these, it fails with the following kind of error being recorded in the /var/log/ovs-agent.log of the compute node / Oracle VM Server :

It is however possible to mount that repository manually using a simple mount command on that compute node, so it cannot be a file system corruption as note 2163873.1 suggests.
