OVM 3 Guest VM Hang with message "Clocksource tsc unstable" (Doc ID 2241977.1)

Symptoms


The Guest VM hung while increasing the vCPU and the vmcore was generated.

According to vmcore log, below is the error:

installing Xen timer for CPU 5
Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -2888770892163 ns). Enable clocksource failover by adding clocksource_failover kernel parameter.

VMcore :

 

Changes

 Tried to add extra vCPU to the guest VM.
