PCA and Oracle VM Performance can be Harmed by ZFS Share Settings Changed from Defaults for other Workloads (Doc ID 2254165.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.2.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

Virtual disks on an Oracle VM repository on an ZFS storage appliance over InfiniBand were not performing as expected. The Oracle VM system was a Private Cloud Appliance, but this can apply to standard Oracle VM deployments as well.

Changes

This can happen when the ZFS is shared among multiple applications, each with different performance tuning requirements.
