The default Berkeley DB format does not support transactions and can become damaged when too many clients attempt to update at the same time. Switching to SQLite provides transactional support for the jabber database and can handle significantly more downstream clients.  This document describes the procedure to  reconfigure jabberd to use SQLite database to store its session information.
