Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.4.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

When trying to reboot a Windows Virtual Machine either from the Windows OS or the OVM Manager GUI, the Virtual Machines takes longer than 10 minutes to be backup again,  the time it takes to be rebooted again is random,  sometimes it took longer than 45 minuted to be backup. At the end the Virtual Machines reboots but it takes extremely long.

This issue is not seen at all if the Virtual Machine is killed and then started back  or either if this is stopped and then started, this is only see when rebooting the VM, this is not affecting Linux Virtual Machines.

Domain type HVM with pv drivers (PV driver 3.4.1.1714)

Changes

This particular issue started to occur after a migration from OVM 3.2.10 to 3.4.1 environment, the issue was only seen on the migrated VMs.
