chroot Fails with "floating point exception" in Rescue Mode (Doc ID 2312919.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Linux 6 server fails on boot up due to GRUB failure.

Try to boot up to rescue mode from installer ISO, but chroot fails as below:


#chroot /mnt/sysimage
floating point exception
