Symptoms

On Oracle Linux 7, observed LDAP error 'ldap_add: Invalid syntax (21)' and 'objectclass: value #1 invalid per syntax'  while trying to add 'user' configuration from the manual after changing the userid.

[root@localhost openldap]# ldapadd -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -f test-ldap.ldif

SASL username: gidNumber=0+uidNumber=0,cn=peercred,cn=external,cn=auth
