Symptoms

A Linux NFS client failed to mount shares from an NFS server, with the following errors being observed:
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting nfsserver.host:/share/backup
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting nfsserver.host:/dump01
mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking.
mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd.
mount.nfs: an incorrect mount option was specified
