Last updated on JULY 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.3.4 to 3.4.4 [Release OVM33 to OVM34]
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

VMs running on the hypervisor are not able to connect to the network, Unable to reach Gateway.

From Dom0 (changes done example DOM0 upgrade/ Switch Activity) ping/ssh/trace was working fine for VM and Gateway but the issue is not able to connect from outside to VM or Gateway was not reaching from inside VM.

VM`s running on the hypervisor that does not upgrade not facing any issue can reach the network and Gateway.

From tcpdump log on all interface, can see some echo (ping) packet, which was sent from guest to bond0/eth1 on dom0, however, the reply packet was not found in eth1 on dom0.

ping -I br0 <Gateway> was working fine from Dom0.

Changes

This is noted when Dom0 upgraded or some issue reported in network/switch.
