Last updated on JUNE 09, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle VM - Version 3.4.2 and laterOracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Due to stability and performance issues, the Populate on Demand (PoD) feature (also known as memory ballooning) is not supported for HVM guest Domain Types.
Although a user can set 'Max. Memory (MB)' larger than 'Memory (MB)' in the Oracle VM Manager, Max Memory should be set to equal Memory.
Oracle does not support setting of 'maxmem>memory' for HVM guest types.
Note: PVMHVM is affected too.
