Oracle Linux: cannot modify file /etc/auto.direct

The /var/log/messages reports the following errors every hour



Symptoms

 The following error appears every time customer tries to modify the /etc/auto.direct file:   

[root@privehews1pre-dc1 tmp]# touch /etc/auto.direct
touch: cannot touch ‘/etc/auto.direct’: Permission denied

 

Changes

Customer ran xfs_repair -n /dev/mapper/ol-root   to repair corruption in the file system
