Symptoms

The below resize2fs command hangs in a loop forever when extending LVM volume on Oracle Linux 7.2

# /sbin/resize2fs /dev/<volumegroup>/<logicalvolume>
resize2fs 1.42.9 (28-Dec-2013) ----------------------> Command hangs here forever.
