Last updated on OCTOBER 07, 2020
Applies to:
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 and laterOracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64
Symptoms
The Errata count is set to zero or is not being updated correctly under https://linux.oracle.com when reviewing the Systems Tab.
Image example below showing the Systems Tab, where a registered server has the value of "0" for both Errata and Errata Packages
Oracle releases important changes to Oracle Linux and Oracle VM software as individual package updates known as errata, which are made available for download on Unbreakable Linux Network ( ULN ) before they are gathered into a release or are distributed via the _patch channel.
Errata packages can contain:
Security advisories, which have names prefixed by ELSA-* (for Oracle Linux) and OVMSA-* (for Oracle VM).
Bug fix advisories, which have names prefixed by ELBA-* and OVMBA-*.
Feature enhancement advisories, which have names prefixed by ELEA-* and OVMEA-*.
To be notified when new errata packages are released, you can subscribe to the Oracle Linux and Oracle VM errata mailing lists at https://oss.oracle.com/mailman/listinfo/el-errata and https://oss.oracle.com/mailman/listinfo/oraclevm-errata.
