Unable To Scan Disks Using Oracleasm And Getting "/var/log/oracleasm: Permission denied" Errors. (Doc ID 2421519.1)

Symptoms

A user currently logged onto the system was unable to scan  asm disks using oracleasm, and encountered the following errors:

/usr/lib/oracleasm/oracleasm-Xshlib: line 182: /var/log/oracleasm: Permission denied
/usr/lib/oracleasm/oracleasm-Xshlib: line 182: /var/log/oracleasm: Permission denied
/usr/lib/oracleasm/oracleasm-Xshlib: line 182: /var/log/oracleasm: Permission denied
/usr/lib/oracleasm/oracleasm-Xshlib: line 182: /var/log/oracleasm: Permission denied
