Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2018

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 5.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

The root file system has become read-only on a server, and df -h shows 100% utilization, with the size listed incorrectly listed as 64Z (Zeta bytes):
e.g.

[root@test~]# df -hP /
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup000-lv_root 64Z 64Z 28G 100% / <<<<<<<<< 64Z ( its not actually Zetabytes)
