Symptoms

There are lots of mails stuck in the queue.

# mailq
-Queue ID- --Size-- ----Arrival Time---- -Sender/Recipient-------
***** 936 Sun Jul 15 19:19:56 test@mel.EXAMPLE.COM
  <id>@messaging.EXAMPLE.COM
  <id>@EXAMPLE.COM
...

And /var/log/messages shows:

Aug 17 23:32:02 hostname postfix/postdrop[28797]: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file maildrop/617608.29868: Permission denied
Aug 17 23:32:02 hostname postfix/postdrop[29468]: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file maildrop/316608.29368: Permission denied
Aug 17 23:32:02 hostname postfix/postdrop[15335]: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file maildrop/929369.15635: Permission denied
Aug 17 23:32:03 hostname postfix/postdrop[29417]: warning: mail_queue_enter: create file maildrop/997635.22817: Permission denied
