Oracle Linux : Infiniband Network Fails on RHCK Kernel 3.10.0-862.11.6.el7.x86_64 with Error "failed to modify QP to RTR: -22" (Doc ID 2469058.1)

Symptoms

When Oracle Linux 7 server is booted with RHCK kernel 3.10.0-862.11.6.el7.x86_64, IB network fails to start. IB network works with UEK4 kernel as well as lower RHCK kernel versions.

Following error messages are seen in the /var/log/messages log file:

 kernel: ib0: failed to modify QP to RTR: -22
 kernel: ib0: failed to modify QP to RTR: -22
 kernel: ib0: failed to modify QP to RTR: -22
 kernel: ib0: failed to modify QP to RTR: -22
 kernel: ib0: failed to modify QP to RTR: -22



Changes

 Issue happened when the server was booted into RHCK kernel
