Symptoms

In /var/log/messages, occasionally the following messages are logged:

kernel: CPU#: Core temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 1)
kernel: CPU#: Package temperature above threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 1)
kernel: CPU#: Core temperature/speed normal
kernel: CPU#: Package temperature/speed normal
kernel: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
