Oracle VM: Storage Device Names on Oracle VM Server(Dom0) are Changed After Connecting Additional Storage (Doc ID 2505403.1)

Symptoms

After connecting additional storage onto Oracle VM Server(Dom0), the existent storage device names(ex. /dev/sda, /dev/sdb...) could be changed.

Becore connecting additional storage:

# lsscsi | grep /dev/sd
[2:0:0:0] disk ATA HDD 0223 /dev/sda
[8:0:0:0] disk DGC VRAID 0533 /dev/sdb
[8:0:1:0] disk DGC VRAID 0533 /dev/sdc

 

 

After connecting additional storage:

# lsscsi | grep /dev/sd
[1:0:0:1] disk COMPAQ MSA1000 VOLUME 4.48 /dev/sda
[1:0:0:2] disk COMPAQ MSA1000 VOLUME 4.48 /dev/sdb
[1:0:0:3] disk COMPAQ MSA1000 VOLUME 4.48 /dev/sdc
[2:0:0:0] disk ATA HDD 0223 /dev/sdd    <----------------- was /dev/sda
[8:0:0:0] disk DGC VRAID 0533 /dev/sde <----------------- was /dev/sdb
[8:0:1:0] disk DGC VRAID 0533 /dev/sdf <----------------- was /dev/sdc
