Symptoms
The Oracle Linux server was patched to the latest OL 6.10 with UEK4. Post patching, it started reporting the below error messages repeatedly:
From /var/log/messages:
Dec 12 13:15:16 <HOSTNAME> kernel: [58778.670000] INFO: NMI handler (perf_event_nmi_handler) took too long to run: 1.000 msecs
Dec 12 13:15:35 <HOSTNAME>: [58797.851000] INFO: NMI handler (ghes_notify_nmi) took too long to run: 1.000 msecs
Changes
The customer performed UCS upgrade on their blade servers, which included firmware updates. Following this, the OS was patched to the latest OL6.10 with UEK4.
Hardware and firmware were verified, and looked up to date.
