Howto Make Free Space Recognized On The Storage Backend After Deleting Virtual Disks. (Doc ID 2536389.1)

Goal

After deleting virtual disks in an OCFS2 repository, there might be no increase in the amount of free space seen on the storage device such as a FC Storage Array. This is due to the fact that the file pointer being removed when a virtual disk is deleted, but the area used by that disk is not being zeroed out. This document provides steps to overcome this problem.
