[PCA 2.3.x] How to Increase Size of Existing Repository
(Doc ID 2558858.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2019
Applies to:
Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.3.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Technically we are able to resize a repository online while virtual machines are still running.
The resize operation includes a couple of steps:
- Resize storage disk/lun
- Resize multipath volume
- Resize ocfs2 file system
- Also need check or resize the ZFS project size or quota
These resize operations could be risky if there are heavy IO operations and the repository LUN is presented as Thin Provision mode, the resizing may yield unpredictable IO behaviors.
If the running VMs are critical production system, we recommend open a proactive SR to Oracle support team, please consider schedule outage window to resize the repository offline.
