After Failed Upgrade of a Compute Node To PCA 2.3.4, An External Custom Network Is Not Visible To That Compute Node. (Doc ID 2562713.1)

Last updated on MAY 26, 2021

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.3.4 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

After a failed (incomplete) upgrade of a compute node to PCA 2.3.4, it was re-provisioned, but an external custom network was not then visible to that compute node.

Changes

The compute node upgrade attempt failed  - the details of which are not available.

The compute node was then re-provisioned as it was unreachable after the upgrade failure.

Subsequent "pca-admin add network" commands failed when attempting to add the relevant eth* interface to that compute node.

Recovery of the xms database did not resolve the "pca-admin add network" failure.
