Exalogic - NIS Slave doesn't Sync Automatically with NIS Server (Doc ID 2583161.1)

Symptoms

An Exalogic NIS slave doesn't sync automatically with the NIS master, which results in authentication failures on NIS clients using NIS SLAVE as an authentication server.

The following messages were recorded in the logs on the NIS client at the same time as when the sync failure occurred:

Jul 29 11:41:37 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:56542 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
Jul 29 11:43:12 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:60018 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
Jul 29 11:43:12 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:35906 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
Jul 29 11:43:13 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:46587 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
Jul 29 11:43:13 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:60242 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
Jul 29 11:43:13 LOCALNISSLAVE ypserv[21596]: refused connect from x.x.x.x:39566 to procedure ypproc_match (testdomain.com,shadow.byname;-1)
