Cannot Add An Oracle VM Server Host To The Pool After IP Address Changed. (Doc ID 2587554.1)

Symptoms

After the IP address of an Oracle VM Server was changed, it can't be added back to the pool. It fails with the following error:

OVMAPI_4010E Attempt to send command: discover_hardware to server: <hostname> failed. OVMAPI_4004E Sync command failed on server: <ip_address>. Command: discover_hardware, Server error: org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: Failed to read server's response: No route to host (Host unreachable) [Wed Sep 11 15:16:08 AEST 2019]

An attempt to delete the server in the manager yields to the following error:

GEN_000002:No object of type Server with id null(<host_uuid>), is currently in the db.


Changes

IP address of the Oracle VM Server host was changed.
