systemd-tmpfiles logs error message onto /var/log/messages every day like:

Jul 2 14:24:44 <hostname> systemd-tmpfiles: Failed to open directory /var/tmp: Too many levels of symbolic links
Jul 2 14:24:44 <hostname> systemd: Started Cleanup of Temporary Directories.
