(Doc ID 2630058.1)
Last updated on JULY 05, 2020
Applies to:
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 and laterLinux x86-64
Goal
There can be situations that occur that may mean that a systems administrator needs to change or regenerate the UUID on an xfs file system.
Two examples of when it may be necessary to change the UUID are:
- If the UUID of the xfs file system has become corrupted or wiped.
- If the xfs file system was cloned at a block level, and where both the original file system and back up file system have identical UUIDs, and may needed to be mounted and accessed at the same time on the same system.
